Terms of Use
Last updated: July 7, 2026
Welcome to Furu! These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of the Furu mobile application and related services (collectively, the “App”). By downloading or using Furu, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Service Overview
Furu (“we,” “us,” or “our”) is a voice-first thought organizer and personal knowledge base. The App lets you record voice notes, typically by shaking your iPhone, and uses on-device AI (Apple Intelligence) to transcribe, summarize, title, and tag them into organized, searchable notes. Key characteristics:
- On-device AI processing: Transcription and organization run on your device. While we strive for accuracy, AI output may contain errors: transcripts and tags may be imperfect, and you should verify important details. We do not guarantee the AI's output will be error-free or suitable for all purposes.
- Device requirements: Furu requires a device that supports Apple Intelligence (iPhone 15 Pro or newer) running a supported iOS version. Features may be unavailable on unsupported devices or OS versions.
- One-time purchase model: Furu is offered as a single one-time purchase (“Lifetime Access”) with no subscription. A free plain-text export of your notes is available regardless of purchase status.
2. Eligibility
Furu is available to users of all ages; however, if you are under 13, or under the minimum age required in your jurisdiction to agree to these Terms, you must use the App under the supervision and with the consent of a parent or legal guardian. Furu does not require an account: there is nothing to register and no credentials to maintain. You are responsible for securing your own device (passcode, Face ID), which protects access to your notes.
3. Purchases
Furu is distributed through the Apple App Store, which handles all payment processing. All purchases are processed exclusively by Apple via its billing system; Furu does not collect or process payment information. By making a purchase, you agree to Apple's Media Services Terms and refund policies. Refund requests must be submitted through Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Pricing: Lifetime Access is a one-time payment of $29.99 (USD). Prices may vary by region due to currency conversion, local taxes, or App Store pricing tiers; the final price is displayed by the App Store at checkout. There is no subscription and no recurring charge.
Important notice regarding Lifetime Access: “Lifetime Access” provides the App's paid features for the operational lifetime of the Furu application, not the lifetime of the purchaser. Your Lifetime Access remains valid for as long as Furu continues to be distributed and supported. Because Furu processes your notes on your device, the App's core functionality does not depend on Furu-operated servers; however, in the event that Furu ceases to be developed, is removed from the App Store, or becomes incompatible with future iOS versions, Lifetime Access holders will not be entitled to refunds (except where required by applicable law). Your notes remain exportable as plain text at all times.
EU/UK customers: You may have a statutory 14-day right of withdrawal for purchases. Exercise it through Apple, from whom you purchased. If you begin using paid features during that period, this right may be limited as the service is delivered immediately upon purchase.
Taxes: Prices may not include applicable taxes, which are charged by the App Store as required by local law.
Service modifications: We reserve the right to modify the App, add or remove features, change the price of future purchases, or discontinue development, at our sole discretion. Material changes affecting paid features will be communicated where reasonably possible. By purchasing, you acknowledge that the App may evolve or be discontinued, and that Furu shall not be liable for such changes beyond what applicable law requires.
4. User Conduct and Acceptable Use
You agree that you will NOT:
- Use the App for unlawful, harmful, or prohibited activities, including recording any person without consent where consent is required by applicable law. You are solely responsible for complying with recording-consent laws in your jurisdiction.
- Rely on Furu for any purpose where transcription errors could cause harm (for example, medical, legal, or financial records). Furu provides no professional advice and no guarantee of transcription accuracy.
- Interfere with the App's functioning or security, attempt to reverse engineer or extract our source code (except as permitted by law), or circumvent purchase validation.
- Infringe others' rights, including recording or storing content that violates the intellectual-property or privacy rights of third parties. You remain solely responsible for the content of your recordings and notes.
5. Your Content and Intellectual Property
Your content: Your recordings, transcripts, and notes (“User Content”) are yours. Because Furu processes User Content on your device and does not transmit it to us, we require no license to your content beyond the local, technical processing the App performs at your direction. We claim no ownership over your User Content, ever. You represent that you have the rights to any content you record and that it does not violate any laws or third-party rights.
Our intellectual property: The Furu software, design, logos, and trademarks are owned by us or our licensors and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the App for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of the App. The “Furu” name and logo are our trademarks and may not be used without our prior written permission.
6. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy describes how we handle information, in short: your notes stay on your device, we use anonymized analytics (TelemetryDeck) and purchase validation (RevenueCat), and we operate no servers that receive your content. By using the App, you agree to the practices outlined in the Privacy Policy.
7. Disclaimer of Warranties
Furu is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including: no warranty of accuracy: AI-generated transcripts, summaries, titles, and tags may contain errors and you assume all risk for actions taken based on them; no warranty of availability: while core features work offline, we do not warrant the App will be uninterrupted or error-free, including after iOS updates; and no implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, or non-infringement. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers, in which case the minimum warranty permitted by law applies. You are responsible for maintaining backups of important data (via iCloud backup or plain-text export).
8. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Furu and its developers, owners, affiliates, and partners will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or exemplary damages, or for any loss of profits, revenues, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the App, including loss of recordings or notes. In no event shall our total cumulative liability exceed the amount you paid for the App in the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the liability, or $50.00 (USD) if you have paid nothing, or the minimum amount permitted by law. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, in which case our liability is limited to the fullest extent permitted by law.
9. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Furu and its officers, directors, employees, agents, and partners from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from: (a) your use or misuse of the App; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) your violation of any law (including recording-consent laws) or any right of a third party. We reserve the right to assume the exclusive defense of any matter subject to indemnification, in which case you agree to cooperate.
10. Termination
These Terms are effective until terminated. You may terminate at any time by deleting the App; your notes can be exported as plain text beforehand, free of charge. We may terminate or suspend your license to use the App if you breach these Terms; in that case you are not entitled to a refund. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (Disclaimers, Limitation of Liability, Indemnification, Governing Law) survive.
11. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Israel, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except where the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your country of residence apply. Any dispute shall be submitted to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Tel Aviv, Israel, except where prohibited by applicable law. We encourage you to contact us first at contact@getfuru.com to resolve any concern informally. Unless prohibited by law, disputes will be resolved on an individual basis only. You waive any right to participate in a class action against us.
12. Miscellaneous
- Changes to Terms: We may update these Terms; material changes will be notified in the App or on our website, and the “Last updated” date revised. Continued use after changes indicates acceptance.
- Severability: If any provision is held invalid, the remainder stays in effect.
- No waiver: Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it.
- Assignment: You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.
- Entire agreement: These Terms and the Privacy Policy constitute the entire agreement between you and Furu regarding the App.
- Language: These Terms are provided in English; the English version prevails over any translation.
- Contact: Questions or feedback: contact@getfuru.com.
By using Furu, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to these Terms of Use.
